Fireplace Cleaning
A canvas tarp will be placed on the floor in front of the fireplace. All equipment is placed on the tarp, including our industrial-power vacuum that is outfitted with a HEPA filter. From inside, the technicians will clean the chimney flue with our
Rod Station Power Brush System. The damper plate will be removed, where possible, to power brush and vacuum the smoke chamber walls and the smoke shelf. The damper is re-installed. Finally, ashes in the firebox are bagged for your disposal in the trash, or if available, in the compost/green bin.
If the roof is accessible, the technicians will examine the chimney and roof area including the flashing, chimney crown, roof tiles and eavestrough to ensure its maintenance is up to date.
Wood Stove Cleaning
A canvas tarp will be placed on the floor in front of the woodstove. All equipment is placed on the tarp, including our industrial-power vacuum that is outfitted with a HEPA filter. The technician will clean the chimney flue or liner with our
Rod Station Power Brush System. If the unit has a cleanout door, the technician will remove any soot that is found in there. All stove and breech pipes will be brushed and vacuumed individually. The inside of the stove, including baffle plates and catalytic combustors will be hand-brushed and vacuumed. Finally, ashes in the firebox are bagged for your disposal in the trash, or if available, in the compost/green bin.
If the roof is accessible, the technicians will examine the chimney and roof area including the flashing, chimney crown, roof tiles and eavestrough to ensure maintenance is up to date.
Cobra Cleaning
In some rare cases a cobra cleaning is required to break through heavy glaze. These cleanings follow similar steps to other cleanings, but use a heavy duty rod and brush system. In most cases we can bring your chimney close to its original state.
